GOING, GOING, RAPTURE
With the ethereal four-piece conceptual image set 'GOING, GOING, RAPTURE' McFaul aims to depict a semi-photorealistic view of reality with a foregrounded view of its virtual creation. The theme explored relates to domestic space and our need to remain connected to nature even within these often artificial spheres we exist within our daily lives. We distance ourselves from what is natural by surrounding ourselves with the constructed, yet these objects of nature ground us and remind us of the world outside, a world that is in a constant state of flux, that is forever changing and progressing. The objects around us rarely change state but these reminders of time's progression do not, they need to be tended to and looked after otherwise they will wilt and die, a parallel to our in motion collective relationship with nature. The use of CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) was used to help fortify the imagery's content by placing doubt into what the observer is seeing by the way of the uncanny valley.

This exploration was apart of the same project as 'NATURE OF TOMORROW' and will be explored further alongside it in the future. Please visit the site's blog (Coming Soon) for any and all upcoming news.
